Conference on Shenzhen's Business Environment Introduction was held in Beijing

On May 15, conference on Shenzhen's Business Environment Introduction themed "Invest in Shenzhen, Build a Winning Future" was held in Shenzhen Building at Guang An Men Wai Street, Beijing. Sponsored by Shenzhen municipal government and organized by Invest Shenzhen, the conference attracted around 200 representatives from 160 enterprises and agencies, making Shenzhen a sensation in the capital of China.

 

Shenzhen's mayor Xu Qin attended the conference and executive vice mayor Lv Ruifeng delivered a welcome address. Mr. Lv stated that since its establishment as a special economic zone 33 years ago, Shenzhen's GDP has surged and currently surpasses US$200 billion, ranking among the top 30 global cities in terms of economic output. Today Shenzhen has emerged as an open, green, innovative and well-regulated city. He warmly welcomed Global 500 foreign-funded companies, large centrally-controlled enterprises, leading private enterprises, universities, and advanced R&D institutes to work closely with Shenzhen in the areas of technological innovation, strategic emerging sectors, modern services sectors, headquarters-based economy, and green and low-carbon solutions.

Vice mayor Chen Biao highlighted Shenzhen's competitive advantages in terms of business environment. He said that as a special economic zone, Shenzhen has established a mature market. Its long-term commitment to fostering businesses has spawned a wealth of globally competitive enterprises, such as Huawei, ZTE, Ping An of China, CMB, Vanke, BYD, Tencent, and Mindray. Currently, 192 of Global 500 companies have invested in Shenzhen, making the city one of China's most popular destinations for foreign direct investment. He also talked about Shenzhen's advantages such as highly developed financial system, efficient government, innovative technology, ideal geographical location, and diverse culture.

Vice mayor Chen Biao also mentioned in his speech that Shenzhen is environmentally beautiful and livable, with the lowest level of energy and water consumption per 10,000 yuan GDP on the Chinese mainland. Shenzhen has launched over 5,000 new-energy cars, positioning it as a city with the world's largest new-energy car base. In 2012, Shenzhen's air quality reached the national air quality Level II standard for 365 days, including 208 days up to Level I standard.


During the conference, Qianhai received wide attention from investors. A representative from the Qianhai Administration elaborated on the zone's superior investment environment and preferential policies. Deloitte & Touche shared its latest research findings about Shenzhen's investment environment. SAP, Samsung and CASC also shared their successful experience about investing in Shenzhen with the participants.
