Widely regarded as a flower in desert, United Arab Emirates (UAE) emerged as one of the world's richest countries in the world in 1966 following the discovery of massive underground oil reserves. Over the past 50 years, modern service industries including banking, fund management, and petrochemicals have thrived in UAE, propelling its rapid development on the world stage. In the morning of August 26 local time, Invest Shenzhen hosted the Shenzhen (China)-UAE Modern Service Industry Investment and Cooperation Conference in Dubai, UAE's major commercial hub.

At the conference, Invest Shenzhen and Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Modern Service Industry Cooperation Zone Administration sought to attract UAE leaders by outlining the development status of Shenzhen's modern service industry and investment environment. Invest Shenzhen and CEO Club UAE, the world's leading non-profit business network organization, signed a memorandum of understanding that covers sharing investment information, enabling investment and project investigations by Chinese and UAE enterprises, and establishing a long-term cooperation mechanism.

The conference also boosted Shenzhen's recognition in the Arab world, with several UAE equity fund companies and high-end service providers revealing plans to visit Shenzhen to explore potential projects in the near future.
