At the afternoon on 20th September, Shenzhen investment promotion conference was held in Paris, France. It was sponsored by the Shenzhen Municipal Government and organized by Invest Shenzhen.
Modern service industry was the theme for this conference, focused on attracting French enterprises to invest in Shenzhen. More than 230 conferees attended the conference, including Shenzhen's Deputy Mayor Chen Biao, Minister Counselor of the Economic and Commercial Counselor's Office of Chinese Embassy in France Wu Xilin, Foreign Trade Consultants of the French government, representatives of French and Chinese government departments and French enterprises. During the conference, Invest Shenzhen signed a cooperation agreement with the French Chamber of Commerce, and signed Letter of Intents with several French enterprises. The overall value of the Letter of Intents exceeded US$400 million.
In his address, deputy mayor Chen Biao said that Shenzhen has turned into a new modernized city in China through 30 years of development. It is a miracle in the history of world industrialization, modernization and urban development. At present, Shenzhen has put a strong impetus in developing modern service industry, particularly in the fields of finance, culture, creative industries, commerce and trade and other professional services. Shenzhen sincerely welcomes French entrepreneur to invest and develop their business in Shenzhen.
The speech of "Invest in Shenzhen, sow a winning future!" was delivered by Director General of Invest Shenzhen Wang Youming. He gave a comprehensively introduction on the development of the modern service industry which covers finance, logistics, culture, etc. He emphasized on illustration of Shenzhen's advantages in terms of location, transportation, industry, market, etc., and promoted the Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Modern Service Industry Cooperation Zone as an ideal development area for the service industry.
The conference invited representatives from Decathlon and KPMG to introduce their successful investment experiences in Shenzhen for the attending delegates.
Shenzhen's excellent investment environment attracted a lot of interest from the conferees during the conference. Representatives from local businesses, banks, law firms, media and relevant associations requested for more information and promotion material about Shenzhen's investment environment. They also consulted with the staff of Invest Shenzhen on investing in Shenzhen, and some enterprises plans to visit Shenzhen in the near future.
