Propelled by Invest Shenzhen, the Shenzhen Samsung Communication Research Institute began operation in Shenzhen on May 21. As Samsung's only overseas 4G eNodeB research center, the institute is designed to develop base stations and cutting-edge communication technologies for global markets. Shenzhen's Mayor Xu Qin and Deputy Secretary General Gao Guohui attended the opening ceremony. The ceremony was also joined by senior officials from Invest Shenzhen, Shenzhen Reform and Development Commission, Trade and Information Commission of Shenzhen Municipality, Shenzhen Sci & Tech Innovation Commission, and Nanshan District Government.

The research institute will greatly boost Shenzhen's industry transformation and upgrade, facilitate the development of Shenzhen's communication industry, and consolidate the position of Shenzhen's communication industry in the global arena.
