The 13th China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair (hereinafter referred to as ICIF) was held in Shenzhen from May 11 to May 15. It was jointly hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Commerce, State Administration of Press and Publication, Radio, Film and Television, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Guangdong Provincial People's Government and Shenzhen Municipal People's Government. To embrace the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, ICIF adopted the theme of “boosting Chinese culture in countries along the “Belt and Road” routes. The main venue was in the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center with a total booth area reaching 105,000 square meters and consisting of 68 sub-venues. In order to promote Shenzhen’s business environment and expand investment cooperation in the cultural and creative industries, Invest Shenzhen leveraged the fair by teaming up with all districts (new areas) and main industry parks to promote investment through integration of culture and technology, culture and creativity, culture and finance, and culture of tourism, and garnered some great achievements: It set up a booth in Pavilion 1 as the main area to promote Shenzhen’s comprehensive business environment and development of cultural and creative industries, while exploring project information and learning about the latest hot issues and directions of industry development to improve its expertise. The second was the close cooperation with Bao'an District by jointly hosting a signing ceremony for 24 main projects in cultural and creative industries of Bao'an, including Shenzhen Vast Vision International Film Culture Industrial Park, Shenzhen Huabao Creative Design Culture Industrial Park, and Country Garden Cultural Technology Industrial Park. Xu He, Director of the Investment Attraction Department of Invest Shenzhen, attended the signing ceremony and witnessed the project signing. The third was teaming up with the Culture, Sports and Tourism Administration of Shenzhen Municipality, Investment Promotion Bureau of Luohu District and Shenzhen Media Group to hold the 7th Shenzhen Animation Trade Fair Forum. Officials such as Tuo Zuhai, Party Secretary and Chairman of China Animation Comic Game Group, and Chen Xiaojian, Deputy Director of Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television of Guangdong, attended the forum and delivered speeches. An investment attraction officer at Invest Shenzhen explained the relevant policies and introduced the development and investment opportunities of Shenzhen’s cultural and creative industries; the forum featured themed speeches and round table discussions, with more than 80 animation companies and institutions at home and abroad in attendance. The fourth was attending the opening ceremony of Guanlan Rosewood Cultural Industries Zone Exhibition and the 4th Chinese Traditional Furniture Forum in the capacity as a supporting organization. Themed on “inheritance, innovation and cross-border cooperation”, the forum sought transformation and explored cooperation and win-win results during exchanges on the “Belt and Road” initiative.
