Deputy Director Zhang Feimeng Attended the Opening Ceremony of the Gore Group’s Investment Project

  On August 16, Zhang Feimeng, deputy director of Invest Shenzhen, attended the opening ceremony of the U.S.-based Gore Group’s new Asia Pacific waterproof breathable filter product research and development center in Bao'an District’s Gaoxinqi Strategic Emerging Industrial Park.

  Jeff Nicols, Global Operations Director of the Gore Group, Vineet Maindola, Gore Group’s Asia Pacific Business Director, and leaders from the Economy, Trade and Information Committee of Shenzhen Municipality, Bao'an District Bureau of Economic Promotion, Innovation and Technology Bureau, and Invest Shenzhen also attended the event.

  This project started construction in 2014 and was the result of a decision to invest in the city by high-level executives of the Gore Group after consulting with Vice Mayor Chen Biao at a meeting facilitated by Invest Shenzhen. The first phase of the project investment amounted to US$7 million and covers an area of 4,100 square meters. Sections already completed include a first-class laboratory and research and development equipment, modern office facilities, a high standard clean room and five automatic production lines and so on.

  Founded in 1958, the Gore Group is headquartered in Delaware, U.S., and is a leading global company specializing in the development and application of expanded polytetrafluoroethylene and other fluorine materials technology. The products are mainly used in medical implants, waterproof and breathable fabric, as well as cables, filters, seals, films, and breathable and fiber technologies utilized in industries such pharmaceutical and biotechnology, oil and gas, aerospace, automotive, mobile electronics, music and semiconductors. The company has manufacturing operations in United States, Germany, Japan, the United Kingdom and China and its sales network spans the globe.
