Invest Shenzhen Successfully Hosts Shenzhen-Hong Kong Animation-Games Industry Partnering and Exchange Forum in Hong Kong

  On August 16, Invest Shenzhen together with the Luohu District Investment Promotion Bureau, and the Shenzhen National Cartoon and Animation Industry Base held the "2017 Shenzhen and Hong Kong Animation and Games Industry Partnering and Exchange Forum" at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center in order to further promote and tap into Hong Kong cultural and creative enterprises and to pique their interest in investing in Shenzhen, and promote the city’s cultural and creative industry policies. In attendance were nearly 80 people including Ms. Zhang Feimeng, Deputy Director of Invest Shenzhen, Mr. Hu He, Deputy General Manager of the Shenzhen Media Group, leaders of the Investment Promotion Bureau of Luohu District and Shenzhen National Cartoon and Animation Industry Base, and Ms. Fiona Lam, Assistant Head of CreateHK of the Hong Kong Commerce and Economic Development Bureau, and representatives from more than 50 influential film and television, animation, games, and copyright holding enterprises and institutions.

  The theme of this event was "Communication, Cooperation and Win-Win," with the goal of promoting the interaction, sharing, cooperation and integration of animation, games and copyright enterprises in Shenzhen and Hong Kong and gradually deepen integration between the cultural and creative industries of the two places in regards to finance and science and technology. Deputy Director Zhang Feimeng in her speech mentioned the long history of excellent interaction between Shenzhen and Hong Kong and stressed the historic opportunities presented by the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the value of creating a global cultural, creative and fashion pinnacle in Shenzhen and Hong Kong. Assistant Head Fiona Lam and Deputy General Manager Hu He both pointed out in their speeches that when co-development of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao enters the golden age, it is imperative that an industry chain for the cultural and creative sectors is created. At the same time the municipal and district governments gave detailed explanations of how the policies and support measures for the cultural industries create an excellent policy support platform for the co-development for the cultural and creative enterprises in both Shenzhen and Hong Kong as well as an exchange, sharing and cooperative platform. After the meeting, representatives from Shenzhen and Hong Kong enterprises and institutions exchanged views on innovative technologies and strategic development in their respective fields and explored deep investment cooperation.
