The China (Shenzhen)-Pakistan (Islamabad) Investment Cooperation Meeting under the theme of “Invest in Shenzhen for a Win-Win Future” was held in Islamabad on April 10. The event was hosted by Invest Shenzhen, co-hosted by the Shenzhen Association of Trade in Services and co-organized by the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
Jia Changsheng, Deputy Director of Invest Shenzhen, and Naeem Y. Zamindar, Chairman of the Board of Investment of Pakistan, Sheikh Amir Waheed, President of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Shahnawaz Mahmood, Deputy Managing Director of the Pak China Investment Company Limited, Wang Xiaokun, Deputy Director of the financial department of Authority of Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Modern Service Industry Cooperation Zone, and Hou Yanwu, Chairman of Shenzhen iAPPay Information Technology, all delivered speeches. The conference was attended by nearly 100 local company and institution representatives.
Jia expressed heartfelt gratitude for the attendance and support of local companies and institutions. The people of China and Pakistan have a long-standing friendship, and Pakistan is situated at the junction of South Asia, Central Asia and West Asia as well right on the route of the “Belt and Road.” Shenzhen and Pakistan’s close partnership serves to complement each other’s industries, especially in the areas of new energy, traditional clothing and IT, all of which have bright prospects and huge potential. Naeem Y. Zamindar expressed his best wishes for good relations between China and Pakistan and between Shenzhen and Islamabad. He analyzed Pakistan’s industrial situation and hopes to visit Shenzhen to learn about the city’s development experience and to strengthen cooperation between the two regions in industry, capital and talent attraction in pursuit of mutual development.
The Shenzhen Association of Trade in Services, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Shenzhen iAPPay Information Technology and Webnaworks Private Ltd., an Islamabad-based company, entered into a strategic cooperation agreement to boost Shenzhen and Islamabad’s economic and trade cooperation. The signing ceremony was attended by an investment promotion delegation from Shenzhen and other related institutions such as the Board of Investment of Pakistan.
