On May 31, Wang Youming, Director of Invest Shenzhen, and Zhang Feimeng, Deputy Director of Invest Shenzhen, met with a delegation led by Huang Shilin, Co-founder and Vice Chairman of CATL, and Fu Yi, Chairman of Shengde Daye New Energy, a unit controlled by CATL. Talks were held on CATL and Shengde Daye New Energy’s proposed investment in Shenzhen, and Invest Shenzhen asked the investors to visit Pingshan District and conduct negotiations.

　　CATL is a Chinese battery manufacturer that is internationally competitive. It was ranked No.1 worldwide in terms of shipments of lithium ion batteries in 2017. As a typical unicorn company, CATL has been approved by the China Securities Regulatory Commission to list on growth enterprise market and will raise about RMB 5.6 billion, the biggest IPO on this bourse. The company has established R&D and manufacturing in the areas of power and energy storage batteries and owns key technologies across the whole industrial chain including materials, cells, battery systems and recycling.
