On March 6, Mr. Wang Youming, Director General of the Shenzhen Municipal Commerce Bureau, attended and delivered an opening speech at the Greater Bay Area ·Microsoft Technology Innovation Summit in Futian District, Shenzhen under the invitation of Microsoft (China) Co., Ltd. In his speech, Mr. Wang expressed his gratitude to Microsoft for its long-term support of Shenzhen and briefly introduced the latest developments and progress of the city and the Guangdong-Hong Kong- Macao Greater Bay Area. In addition, he encouraged young science and technology experts to take an active role in Shenzhen’s scientific and technological innovation. Before the summit, Mr. Wang had a brief meeting with senior executives of Microsoft including Mr. Horace Chow, Microsoft Vice President and Microsoft China's Chief Operating Officer, and Ms. Cally Chan, General Manager of Microsoft Hong Kong and Macao, to discuss how to deepen cooperation across multiple fields between Microsoft and Shenzhen in the context of the Greater Bay Area.

　　The summit was an important initiative of Microsoft in response to the Outline Development Plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. At the meeting, Microsoft announced that it will endeavor to make breakthroughs in areas such as forging innovations in artificial intelligence and Internet of Things (IoT) technology, promoting the digitalized industrial transformation in the Greater Bay Area, training a new generation of scientific and technological talents and enhancing the international competitiveness of regional enterprises. It will also leverage its technological advantages in the fields of cloud computing, big data, IoT, and artificial intelligence among others and encourage market developers and partners in Greater China to play an active role in ecosystem innovation. With the goal of promoting technological innovation, accelerating developer growth and facilitating win-win cooperation with its partners, Microsoft has contributed to the establishment of global scientific and technological innovation centers and key sources of emerging industries in the Greater Bay Area.
