Commerce Bureau of Shenzhen Municipality Visited Greece, Turkey and Serbia for Economiand Trade Cooperation and Exchange

  In order to seize the great opportunities brought by the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, play a leading role as the pilot demonstration area of socialism with Chinese characteristics and further strengthen the cooperation between Shenzhen and countries along the Belt and Road, the Commerce Bureau of Shenzhen Municipality worked with Longhua District Government and formed an economic and trade delegation to visit Greece, Turkey and Serbia from September 4 to 13, for economic and trade cooperation and exchange in industries of information technology, biopharmaceutics, cultural tourism and marine.

  During the visit, the delegation held economic and trade cooperation and exchange conferences in Athens (Greece) and Istanbul (Turkey) successively, focusing on topics such as the Belt and Road two-way investment cooperation, the overseas investment promotion network construction and other key tasks. Through the promotional video of Shenzhen, on-site promotion, enterprise sharing and interactive communication, etc., the delegation had met with over 230 representatives from the local political and business circles and comprehensively marketed the good business environment in Shenzhen, new business opportunities in Shenzhen brought by the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the pilot demonstration area of socialism with Chinese characteristics, and the development of various industries in Shenzhen and in Longhua District, as well as relevant policies. Huang Songfeng, the Commercial Consul from the Chinese Consulate General in Istanbul, Grigoris Dimitriadis, Secretary General of the Hellenic Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Nikolaos Makropoulos, Vice Mayor of Athens, all spoke highly of Shenzhen's urban development achievements in their keynote speeches and encouraged Shenzhen to further deepen cooperation between China and Greece as well as China and Turkey in various areas so as to share development achievements. At the conferences, the Longhua Investment Promotion Center and the Turkey Chinese Chamber of Commerce, and the Shenzhen International Investment Promotion Association (SZIIPA) and the Chamber of Greek-Chinese Cooperation respectively signed memorandums of cooperation to jointly promote exchanges, mutual visits and project cooperation between both parties.

  The delegation also paid special visits to Piraeus Port Authority S.A., Liknoss (a tourism resources internet technology company), Chamber of Greek-Chinese Cooperation , Athens Merchants Association , Galenika (a pharmaceutical company in Serbia), Belgrade Chamber of Commerce, Netas (a wholly-owned subsidiary of ZTE), Turkish Industry and Business Association and other famous local companies and institutions, introducing the investment environment and industrial advantages of Shenzhen on a one-on-one basis, comprehensively publicizing Shenzhen's new opportunities brought by the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and exploring new investment projects and the new opportunities for economic and trade cooperation.
