Commerce Bureau of Shenzhen Municipality Paid a Visit to New Zealand, Australia and Fiji for Economic and Trade Cooperation and Exchange

  In order to seize the great opportunities brought by Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA), play a leading role as the pilot demonstration area of socialism with Chinese characteristics, further strengthen the cooperation between Shenzhen and sovereign states in Oceania, and turn Shenzhen into a high-value hub for opening up, Commerce Bureau of Shenzhen Municipality, led by Deputy Director General Zhang Feimeng, worked with competent authorities and formed a delegation to visit Australia, New Zealand and Fiji from October 14 to 23, for economic and trade cooperation and exchange in industries of high tech, cross-border e-commerce, biomedicine and marine economy.

  During the visits, the delegation centered "Seeking for Larger Merchants, Eminent Merchants and Good Merchants around the Globe", strengthening overseas economic and trade cooperation and exchange and promoting construction of overseas economic and trade network, and staged economic and trade cooperation and exchange conferences in Auckland, Brisbane and Lautoka, showcasing good business environment and new opportunities of Shenzhen in the context of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) to accumulatively over 300 local political and business representatives by means of promotional video, on-site introduction and interaction. At the conferences, Shenzhen International Investment &Promotion Association (SZIIPA), Shenzhen Chamber of Commerce in New Zealand and Australia China Innovation Centre respectively signed memorandums of cooperation to jointly promote exchanges, mutual visits and project cooperation between both parties.

  Auckland Councilor Wayne· Walker, and Cheng Yangchun, Consul of the Economic and Commercial Section of the Consulate-General of the PRC in Brisbane, spoke highly of Shenzhen's development and achievement and encouraged Shenzhen to further deepen cooperation between New Zealand and China, Australia and China for cooperation and shared development in various fields.

  The delegation visited in particular the listed company AFC Group, Magic Lamp Group Limited, GMP Pharmaceuticals, Australia-China Centre for Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine (ACCTERM) and laboratory, Euclideon and other key enterprises and institutions, seeking for investment cooperation and bilateral trade; also met with Auckland Tourism, Events and Economic Development (ATEED), Brisbane City Council, Lautoka City Council, Australia China Innovation Centre, the Capital Incubator and other major government departments and enterprises to explore how to advance exchange and cooperation, especially the economic and trade cooperation between Shenzhen and sovereign states in Oceania.
