Shenzhen Delegation Attends China-CEEC Expo

2023-06-01

The 3rd China-CEEC Expo & International Consumer Goods Fair, co-hosted by the Ministry of Commerce and the People's Government of Zhejiang Province, kicked off on May 16 in Ningbo City in east China's Zhejiang Province.

To fully leverage opportunities from the trade platform and cooperation mechanism of the China-CEEC Expo, help upstream and downstream businesses in related industries identify market opportunities, seek cooperation and secure deals, and promote exchanges in trade and investment between Shenzhen and cities in Central and Eastern European Countries (CEECs), Shenzhen sent a delegation to the expo. Mr. Yao Ren, Deputy Secretary-General of the Shenzhen Municipal Government and a responsible person of the Shenzhen Commerce Bureau served as the leader and deputy leader of the delegation respectively, leading a group of delegates from famed businesses to exhibit Shenzhen's competitive products in Ningbo.

The Shenzhen delegation exhibited products at the Provincial and Municipal Pavilion of the International Consumer Goods Fair (H03, Hall 1, Ningbo International Convention and Exhibition Center), with an exhibition space of 225 square meters. Under the theme of "Shenzhen's New Journey of High-quality Development in the New Era", the Shenzhen delegation's exhibition space has two sections: Shenzhen Image Exhibition Area, and Shenzhen Enterprise Exhibition Area. The Shenzhen Image Exhibition Area showcases Shenzhen's achievements in economic and social development, business environment, investment promotion policies, and its contributions to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area as a core engine city. The Shenzhen Enterprise Exhibition Area consists of three segments, namely Shenzhen Innovation, Shenzhen Intelligent Manufacturing, and Fashion Life, where the city's competitive products are showcased, including consumer electronics, home appliances, household supplies, kitchenware & tableware, stationery and outdoor & leisure products, gifts and handicrafts. Eleven well-known companies including China Yong Feng Yuan, Bama Tea and Comix Stationery participated in the exhibition.

China-CEEC cooperation is an important part of the relations between China and Europe. Since the establishment of their cooperation mechanism in 2012, the two sides have made positive progress in economic and trade cooperation under the common interest and guidance of the leaders of China and CEECs. China-CEEC Expo serves as an important bridge to facilitate economic and trade cooperation between China and CEECs as well as is China's only national regular exhibition with CEECs. 2023 is the first year for fully implementing the guiding principles of the 20th CPC National Congress, and the 3rd China-CEEC Expo is China's first national exhibition with the Central and Eastern European region after a smooth transition in COVID-19 response efforts. The success of this expo is of great significance to deepening economic and trade cooperation between China and CEECs.

Under the theme of "Deepening Pragmatic Cooperation and Working Together for the Future", 27 key events took place during the expo. The expo has three exhibition sections: Central and Eastern Europe Exhibition, International Consumer Goods Exhibition, and Imported Commodities Annual Exhibition, with a gross area of 220,000 square meters. The expo is a major platform for exhibiting featured products from Central and Eastern Europe and expanding imports from the region. It plays an important role in driving high-quality economic and trade cooperation between China and CEECs.
